M&J Travel Club Rules


Deposit & Refund Policy:

  • Day Trips - $20.00 per person deposit is required for all day trips unless a different amount is stated. Deposits must be received at time of reservation in order for names to stay on the sign-up list. Final payments are due 30 days prior to the trip departure (unless stated otherwise). 
  • Extended Trips – Deposit amounts vary according to each trip and will be detailed in brochures or newsletters. Reservations cannot be guaranteed until your deposit is received. Final payment dates vary and are also stated.

Refunds/Cancellations:

On all day trips, your deposit is fully refundable up to the final payment date. After the final payment date, you will receive a full refund if we can find a replacement for you. Exceptions are shows for which we have purchased non-refundable tickets. In this instance, a refund is made if we can find a replacement from our waiting list. If no waiting list is available, it is your responsibility to find someone to take your place. On extended travel, refunds vary and are dependent on the policies of our travel providers. Cancellation policies are explained in the individual brochures. Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended.

Requirement To Travel With The M&J Travel Club:

The M&J Travel Club is open to the community. The Morrill & Janes Bank, holds the First State Bank Charter issued by the state of Kansas and has been providing service to the people of Northeast Kansas for 140 years. We feel this establishes beyond any question our ability to provide good, competitive, financial services for our customers and friends. You do not have to be a customer to travel with the M&J Travel Club, however we would like to have you as our customer. All we would ask is you open any type of deposit account (checking, savings, CD) with a minimum balance of $1,000.00. Age requirement 40 to ??

Before going on any trip you are required to sign a Disclaimer stating the Morrill & Janes Bank acts only as the agent in arranging various accommodations and assumes no responsibility or liability in connection with the service provided. The M&J Bank is not responsible for loss or injury in connection with sightseeing, excursions, restaurants, foods or liquids, or loss of any personal item or baggage. The M&J Travel Club reserves the right to make alterations in a tour, should it become necessary without penalty to the operator and to cancel any tour prior to departure and shall be responsible for only those refunds of payment paid by said participants. If your cancellation is necessary and we cannot fill your reservation, there will be an nonrefundable cost. This disclaimer covers any trip you go on and gives the names of two people to call in case of an emergency.   

A week before each trip the customer is called to remind them of the time of departure. A snack is provided either going or coming back from a trip.

Heritage Club:

In January 2000 we joined the Heritage Clubs International. This is an organization of banks in the United States that have travel clubs. There are eight travel vendors we work with to plan our extended trips. There is an annual meeting held every March that I attend to get ideas for future trips, visit with my peers on ideas to make our travel club even better. Each of the eight tour vendors presents their trips for the coming year.

Newsletter:

We have a newsletter that gives details about our upcoming trips.  We have had trips fill up in less than five days after a newsletter goes out.
